After discussions with local "baseball people," Charlottesville businessman Jeff Burton meets with Valley League Commissioner Don Lemish about bringing a team to Charlottesville.

It's Official!

The Valley League member teams vote to award a franchise to Charlottesville, set to begin play in the 2015 season.

After a public contest with 266 names, "Tom Sox" is chosen. The team colors are announced as blue, green, and gray at a press conference.

First Game in History

The Tom Sox take the field for the first time, falling 4-2. Brett Johnson scores the first run in franchise history.

First Valley League Championship!

In just their third year, the Tom Sox triumph 2-1 over Strasburg to win the title. Michael Wielansky is named league MVP with a record .428 batting average.

Back to the Championship

The Tom Sox advance to the Valley League Championship for the second-straight season, defeating the Lumberjacks 7-6.

100th All-Time Win

The Tom Sox win their 100th all-time game, a 12-7 victory over Winchester. Dan Harwood ties a team record with five RBI.

The team advances to the championship for the third straight year and brings home the hardware, defeating the Strasburg Express 4-1.

Season Canceled

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Valley Baseball League cancels the 2020 season.

The Return to Play

The Tom Sox return to the field for the first time in two years, defeating the Covington Lumberjacks 9-5.

2017 Tom Sox player Vinnie Pasquantino is called up to the Kansas City Royals, becoming the first Tom Sox alum to play in Major League Baseball.
